ZyXEL is pleased to announce the next generation of CPE solutions that support IPv6. ZyXEL’s latest VDSL2 and ADSL2+ CPEs provide dual support for IPv6 and IPv4 environments -- a must for any operator considering supporting both IP versions on their network. As IPv4 addresses evaporate from existence in the near future, the need for newer networking devices that handle two IP addresses in one device is starting to get notice. ZyXEL delivers the latest access technology that offers the ability to support two IP protocols with a VDSL2 and ADSL2+ CPE end-point.
Now, operators have the ability to accommodate both next generation IPv6 and legacy IPv4 networks, at the same time, from the same CPE device. ZyXEL has engineered such CPEs. With the ability to support IPv4 and IPv6 simultaneously, ZyXEL’s DSL CPEs are an easy choice for Telcos migrating towards IPv6 compatible access devices. ZyXEL offers three DSL CPEs that currently support the IPv6 ready logo. This logo, from the IPv6 Forum (www.ipv6forum.com), indicates that the CPEs have adhered to specific guidelines and interoperability testing programs intended to increase user confidence by demonstrating that IPv6 is available now and is ready to be used.
There are three ZyXEL DSL CPE models that support IPv6:

All three CPEs are ready to support the three different IPv6 deployments types including:
- Dual Stack - both IPv4 and IPv6 address are supported in the same CPE device
- Dual Stack Lite - ISPs are able to allow IPv4 to connect through an IPv6 via an encrypted tunnel
- IPv6 Rapid Deployment (IPv6rd) - a pre-existing mechanism to transfer IPv6 packets over the IPv4 network, with the significant change that it operates entirely within the end-user's ISP's network
