According a recent survey by J.D. Powers and Associates, most guests now demand Wireless Internet Access. If they don’t get it, they’ll stay at a property that offers it. Simple as that.
Wi-Fi networks at hotels no longer involve just a couple of Access Points (APs) so network management has increased in complexity. Providing security and managing bandwidth for their guests’ multiple mobile devices and video streaming and chatting applications has become top priority.
Guests watching movies on Netflix can choke a network or business travelers not being able to access their employers’ Virtual Private Networks (VPN) could disappoint guests resulting in . Even worse, their scathing reviews on travel sites could discourage future patrons.
